Second night of riots hits Sydney

Violence triggered by race tensions has hit Sydney for a second night, with youths damaging cars and shops. A reporter in the suburb of Cronulla, where dozens were arrested after riots on Sunday, described scenes of "chaos".

I'm lost on this one Jason. I haven't heard about it in the news (in America). Plus I'm a little drunk, so my reading probably didn't get threw to my higher faculty. Violence is always a shame. They should have a more suitable way to convey their sentiment

I spent a considerable about of time living in the area in question. Cronulla Beach, Caringbah and the ajoining towns where the riots "were" taking place are in the southern outer-county of Sydney called "The Shire" by the locals. (pre-LOTR term). Sutherland, which has a reputation as the "proud landing-site of Captain Cook in 1778" as I was told countless times. Cronulla is off of Botany Bay. It is unsaid policy that the area is to be kept Anglo, and the real estate market has even reflected this with racial-discrimination against a number of Chinese buyers who have found residence on the North Shore.
So this is definitely a very conservative area, historically and normally distrustful of outsiders from other parts of the city; let alone anyone showing any form of foreign background.
However, even as of Bush-term 1 though from experience they still idolize Americans. Is it something we portray to them, or the future of our country as our economy collapses because of our foreign debt?
